Try to avoid driving. The United Arab Emirates have the highest death rate on the roads per capita in the world. There is an accident once every two minutes and 1 person dies every day. Especially during Ramadan, due to the low blood sugar rate of the locals, the accident rate in Dubai boosts by 200%.

Make sure you book a hotel far away from a construction site. Inform yourself about the location of the hotel before booking it. All over Dubai there are skyscrapers being built and there is no break in working. Therefore, expect a 24 hour construction noise.

Keep an eye out for snakes when swimming in the sea. There are at least 7 known species of sea snakes in the Arabian Gulf. They are not generally aggressive, but they will bite if provoked. Encounters with the snakes are pretty rare, but if it happens and you get hurt, call an ambulance immediately.

No public displays of affection. As weird as it sounds, if you’re going there with your soul mate try not to get carried away in public places if you don’t want to explain your gesture at the police station. Quick kisses and holding hands are allowed, but keep in mind that you’re in a Muslim country and the laws there are more strict.

Prepare for extreme weather. Plan your trip to Dubai during winter months if you never dealt with extreme heat and humidity. From March until October the temperature could range from 30 to 60 degrees Celsius (86 to 140 Fahrenheit degrees). Drink plenty of water, wear long sleeves and long pants and apply sunblock.
