Florence and The Machine

Florence + The Machine have finished recording their second album.

The tracks for the album are currently with Island, the band's record label. Island are picking which of the songs will make it onto the final album.

Acclaimed producer Paul Epworth, who produced the album, has said that this will be no easy task. Taking to twitter to announce: "I feel for the a&r dept having to try and whittle these tracks down to 10 or 12 because there really are no weak ones."

Epworth also described the album's sound: "It's a weird record that sounds live in ways and like a machine in others, with sensitivity and power from both the music and Flo's voice."

One of the songs being considered for the new album is Strangeness and Charm which lead singer Florence Welch has described as "about seven minutes long and pretty relentless". Strangeness and Charm got it's debut in the Olympia Theatre in Dublin last May when the band were there as part of their Cosmic Love Tour.

The band's first album, Lungs, was an international success which entered the top 10 in 9 different countries including number 1 in the UK and number 2 in Ireland.
