Lebron James has become a minority stakeholder in Liverpool

Basketball star Lebron James has become a minority stakeholder in Liverpool after signing a representation deal with the club’s owners.

Fenway Sports Group (FSG) has struck a deal to partner the Miami Heat player’s marketing firm to become his exclusive worldwide representative.

The Wall Street Journal said Maverick Carter, chief executive of LRMR Branding & Marketing, had expressed his desire to build James’ portfolio internationally.

“We’re not interested in talent or athlete representation but we think he is one of the most remarkable athletes of his time,” FSG and Liverpool chairman Tom Werner told the newspaper.

“We believe we can open doors for LeBron and LeBron can open doors for us. Without purchasing Liverpool, we never would have been able to have this conversation.” (BBC Sport)

Lebron James is of course one of the biggest sportsman in the world, not just in physical terms, and the awarding of a small stake in Liverpool Football Club is very interesting indeed although amusing when Miami Heat’

The 26 year old NBA star is reportedly a Liverpool supporter but that may have little to do with this business deal that clearly deals with non-footballing matters and apparently his alliance with the Boston Red Sox, albeit only in business terms is in danger of alienating the support of the baseball team he passionately supports, the New York Yankees.

i think this is a very good move by nesv as this will allow us to use lebbron to sell the liverpool name in america, which could help us economically. apparently he is also big in asia, so that is another plus. it only takes one photo of him in a liverpool shirt and weve sold alot of shirts.

If we could break into the YANKS market it would help us to sell more shirts and fund buying a better class of players FSG seem to be very good bisuness men lets hope this helps LFC.

Funny story, even funnier people above thinking this could be used to break into the American market. They have pretty much zero interest in football, maybe 1%.

Rather than allow people with little or no knowledge of soccer a share of the club, why not open the minority shares to fans? And allow the fans a say in the club.

Mr James, did you question when was the last time that 18 championship was achieved? Maybe then you will hope that a barren run of 21 years is not what you want.

actually his sell prices are spot on, his buy prices ain’t far off and we could afford that quite easily…. nothing to do with fifa since he was being realistic, not like he said neymar, kaka and messi. Jeez.

LeBron is without a doubt a talented nba player, if not the most talented. But what a retard. He’s the american version of CR7, without any brain cells.
