James Taylor recently confirmed the addition

James Taylor recently confirmed the addition of more than a dozen new U.S. dates to his tour plans, a move that will keep him on the road consistently through the coming months.

Unlike the shows Taylor announced earlier this year, his son, Ben Taylor, will not be on the bill for the newly announced performances, which take place from mid-April through May.

As previously reported, James and Ben Taylor kick off a tour together Feb. 26 in Tulsa, OK, and the two will play 18 cities together.

James Taylor's most recent studio set, "Covers," surfaced in 2008 and peaked at No. 4 on The Billboard 200. The album, which was recorded over 10 days at Taylor's Massachusetts studio, earned his two Grammy nominations.

Ben Taylor, whose mother is chart-topping performer Carly Simon, is preparing for the 2011 release of "Listening," his fourth studio set and the follow-up to 2008's "The Legend of Kung Folk, Part 1 (The Killing Bite)."
