I doubt that anyone will match this year’s HGTV Dream Home giveaway – and the year is young. Aside being an extremely savvy marketing campaign, that will bring HGTV enough media and public attention to double the ROI on the giveaway, this is the kind of contest that has a meaning, and could change the life of one happy American family. Because the giveaway is not only about a home. It also includes a new 2011 GMC Acadia Denali and $500,000 in cash. The total value of the prize is $2USD-million.
HGTV took advantage of this year’s Rose Bowl Parade to showcase the impressive mountain lodge home – at a smaller scale, of course, only one-tenth the size of the actual home. The house was designed Phoenix Decorating, a company based in Pasadena. The lucky winners of the home will have to relocate in Stowe, Vermont.
Unfortunately for many of our international readers, the contest is open solely to US residents, who can access the competition site only in the United States, its territories, possessions, or commonwealths. But the good news for those who are eligible to participate, is that they can enter twice a day till February 18, 2011 at 5 p.m EST: once on the official HGTV website, and once on FrontDoor.com
