Derek Hough Loses his Cool With Cheryl Cole

The honeymoon period is officially over for Cheryl Cole and Derek Hough, after Chery’s recent foul mood led the pair to an almighty bust up…

Sparks were flying between Cheryl Cole and boyfriend Derek Hough last week when the pair had their first big row.

Things got so heated between the couple -who have been an on-off item since last summer – that Derek had to ask Cheryl to stop being so unpleasant.

“Chery’s in a rancid mood and Derek is finding it a real trial,” a source tells us.

“She’s snapping and snarling at family friends, and really isn’t pleasant to be around.”

But it’s Derek who is bearing the brunt of 27-year-old Cheryl’s mood swings, and things came to a head last week. And he doesn’t know how much more he can take…

“They had their first big barney,” continues the pal. “It was a pretty serious row, with lots of shouting. Stuff was said in the heat of the moment, and Derek told her to stop being so unpleasant.”

Apparently Cheryl’s bad moods understandable stems from the fact that her career plans - which originally seems set in stone as she jetted Stateside to firm up deals as a US X Factor judge – are now looking far from concrete.

Although it is inevitable for all new couples to have their first bust-up, Cheryl’s recent stress hasn’t helped.

“Cheryl’s pretty tetchy at the moment, everything is up in the air, she’s p*ssed off with Simon Cowell and she’s taking it out on Derek.”

While the general perception of dancer Derek, 25, is that he wouldn’t say boo to a goose, has reached the stage that he is finally putting his foot down with his feisty girlfriend.

“Derek is a strong person and won’t just sit there take it. He’ll bite back,” adds the source.

It is no surprise that Derek has started standing up for himself. Cheryl still refuses to acknowledge him as her boyfriend,

Cheryl has yet to admit that they are an item in public, telling Alan Carr recently’ “A lady doesn’t talk about these things.”

While the honeymoon period lasted, Derek was prepared to put up with it, but not anymore…
