On Casimir Pulaski day they not only seek to honor this man but also the heritage of Polish-Americans. Keeping in touch with our roots is something that is very important to Europeans. My grandmother’s parents brought her over from Poland and had to change their name to Jordan because of the hate for Polish people. It is great that now we can all celebrate Casimir Pulaski day together.
Interested in celebrating? The Sabrina P. Logisz Great Hall of the Polish Museum of American is going to have a celebration at 10 a.m. which is going to feature speeches by Gov Pat Quinn as well as Mayor Richard M. Daley and Polish American leaders. Almost all schools are closed down for this holiday. Also do not expect to get mail on Casimir Pulaski day.
