Board of Nursing California is to work for the safety

The basic aim of Board of Nursing California is to work for the safety, health and welfare of society and public. It strives continuously for a Healthy Economy and Strong Communities. The board tries to see that nursing professionals meets the regulations and standards of practice and are competent enough to offer safe and quality health care, as required by the law and Nurse Practice Act.

It is also the responsibility of the board to see that these practicing professionals possess approved licenses to practices and are well qualified through education. Their practicing competencies are evaluated thoroughly by different means. The board also adopts and set legal standards for, working nursing professionals nursing practice and nursing education.

It is also the responsibility of the board to oversee and approves numerous educational programs for nurses and nursing assistants all over the state of Arizona.

If there is any consumer complaint relating to licensee’s compliance with the law and Nurse Practice Act, the board investigates complaints and takes suitable disciplinary actions, if the complaints are found to be violation of Nurse Practice Act and Law.

The CNA Board comprises of California Department of Public Health (CDPH) Licensing and Certification Program (L&C), California Department of Public Health’s Aide and Technician Certification Section (ATCS) and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

L&C oversee the licensing and certification of nurse aide, home health heads and other nursing professionals. ATCS approve CNA programs offered through colleges, adult education programs, facilities and occupational training centers. California Department of Public Health (CDPH) Licensing and Certification Program (L&C) and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) are such authorities that oversee the implementation of state and federal requirements by these health care centers.

The board also regulates, manages and maintains CA Nurse Aide Registry and evaluates competency of nurse aides for offering quality, safe and competent everyday nursing care to patients in different health care facilities. Only competent CNAs are listed to CA Nurse Aide Registry.
