She might not be staying ahead in the polls, but when it comes to campaigning, Michele Bachmann’s hair has been getting down to business.
In recent days, including the last GOP debate in South Carolina, the presidential hopeful appears to have traded her voluminous coif for a slicked-back, and frankly pretty serious, hairstyle.
Bachmann’s fellow Republican contenders have been called out over the past few weeks for committing various gaffes, with Herman Cain experiencing brain-freeze over which side of the Libyan uprising he’s on and Rick Perry forgetting one of the three federal agencies he vows to eliminate if elected.
And while Bachmann herself is never hesitant about expressing opinions, her more severe appearance has us wondering, could the sudden change be a subtle way of showing that she’s the candidate with a good head on her shoulders?
Sure, some might say that it’s in poor taste (or even sexist) to make female politicians’ appearance a topic of discussion. But let it be known, if Mitt Romney starts campaigning with a buzz cut or Newt Gingrich turns up at Saturday’s debate rocking a faux-hawk, we’ll be the first to give it our full attention.source
