Lindsay Lohan's father arrested

Tampa police early this morning arrested Lindsay Lohan's father after officers charged him with beating up his on-again, off-again, quasi-celebrity girlfriend, authorities said.

Michael Lohan, 51, of Fort Lauderdale, was arrested after police went to Apt. 1411 in a condominium complex located at 2012 Lemans Blvd. in West Tampa. He was charged with domestic battery on 28-year-old Kate Major, a former reporter for The Star tabloid.

Prior to her rocky relationship with Michael Lohan – she said she had four times called police in Los Angeles and New York with allegations of domestic violence involving Lohan – she was in a relationship with Jon Gosselin, from the reality show "Kate Plus 8."

Major told police that Lohan does not live in the apartment, but officers noted that his clothes and personal belongings were in the drawers and closet. She told officers that the two were on-again, off-again for two years and that she had an injunction for protection against him filed in Sarasota County that ended today. She said Lohan showed up at her apartment to attend the court hearing today. He had tried to talk her into removing the injunction, she told police.

Major attended the 2 p.m., 45-minute hearing today. The judge did not grant a permanent injunction because Lohan was not present to defend himself. The court set another hearing in two weeks and granted Major a temporary injunction until that hearing.

She told police that early this morning, the two began arguing because Major refused to perform oral sex on Lohan. He squeezed Major's arms and pushed her several times, knocking her to the ground, the arrest report said. She suffered bruises, but refused medical treatment.

When officers arrived on scene, they heard a woman yelling "Stop" and "Leave me alone," the report said. Lohan was out of breath and sweating when he opened the door and told police that everything was fine and nothing had happened. Major, who was crying, shaking and having difficulty catching her breath, told police that Lohan was lying and that she needed their help.

"Mr. Lohan said that everything was OK," said police spokeswoman Andrea Davis, "but officers heard the victim screaming in the background that it was not OK."

Lohan told police that Major had dinner at Fleming's restaurant and that she was intoxicated after drinking a bottle of wine. At home, the two had sex, and Major became upset, saying she believed she was pregnant from previous encounters with Lohan.

When police were about to arrest him, Lohan, who gave his occupation as director of marketing for Larasan Pharmaceuticals of Fort Lauderdale, complained of chest pains and was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital for treatment, police said.

"He was hoping this would prevent him from going to jail, and in fact signed himself out of the hospital soon after he thought police left," the arrest report said. "After he signed himself out, he was transported to booking."

"We don't know if he was having chest pains or not," Davis said. If he was admitted for observation and held for 24 hours which was the suggestion of the emergency room doctors, the officers would have turned the case over to prosecutors who would decide at a later date whether or not to file charges. But when Lohan checked out of the hospital, Davis said, "We arrested him and took him to jail."

Major could not be reached for comment. A call to the telephone number listed on the report was answered by a woman who said it was a wrong number.

Prosecutors dropped the charges in July after Major failed to show up at trial. Lohan's attorney said Major declined to cooperate because she did not want a court spectacle. The attorney said Major did not receive any money from Lohan as part of the apparent settlement.

As we speak his daughter is disrobing for a gentleman's magazine for 7 figures. His little darling will bail him out as soon as she is done doing community service at the morgue. What a busy schedule she has. Community service, centerfold work and daddy bailing.
