CHENNAI: The state government, on Monday, made a major reshuffle of district collectors by transferring 21 officials across the state. Five senior IAS officials in the rank of principal secretaries and secretaries were also shifted.

Surjit K Chaudhary, principal secretary, planning and development is posted as chairman, teachers' recruitment board. R Vijaykumar, chairman and managing director, Tamil Nadu Handicrafts Development Corporation Limited, is posted as principal secretary, planning and development.

Girija Vaidyanathan, principal secretary and commissioner of maternal child health and welfare and project director, reproductive child health project, is posted as principal secretary, health and family welfare department. Jatindranath Swain, registrar of cooperative societies is posted as secretary, cooperation, food and consumer protection department. Kumar Jayant, commissioner of technical education, is posted as secretary, public and rehabilitation.
