Riccardo Muti Fainting During A Rehearsal With The Chicago Symphony Orchestra (CSO)

Italian conductor RICCARDO MUTI is recovering well afteron Thursday (03Feb11).

He was treated for superficial facial injuries sustained in the fall and is now "doing fine and in stable condition", according to Deborah Rutter, the president of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra Association.

Doctors kept Muti in hospital overnight for observation while trying to determine the reason for his collapse, according to the Associated Press.

In October (10), the music director was hospitalised in Italy for extreme physical exhaustion and forced to pull out of his residency at the CSO.
