Smashing Pumpkins' D'Arcy Speaks!
Last week, long lost former Smashing Pumpkins bassist D'Arcy Wretzky answered the question "where are you now?" by calling into Chicago rock radio station Q101 completely out of the blue. As the Smashing Pumpkins website points out, Q101 host Ryan Manno has now posted the full, un-edited audio of their chat. And, wow, it's... out there.
D'Arcy apparently lives on a horse farm in Michigan now and never comes to Chicago. She says she gave up the rock'n'roll lifestyle because she wasn't healthy enough for it. She expresses her fandom for the Monkees' Davy Jones and the Silversun Pickups--who she doesn't think sound like the Pumpkins. And she tells a story about Marilyn Manson's parents. Seriously.
It's pretty crazy. Recommended listening.
