M*A*S*H star Harry Morgan, known to many as Col. Potter from the hit 1970s TV show, died this morning in Los Angeles at age 96. His son, Charles, confirmed the news to The New York Times.
Morgan, as Potter, was head of the M*A*S*H unit from 1975 through the series' final episode, "Goodbye, Farewell and Amen," which became the most- watched TV show in U.S. history when it aired on Feb. 28, 1983. Morgan won an Emmy Award in 1980 for outstanding supporting actor.source
