Plastic hubcaps, no rear wiper: What new cars lack

By Porsche
When you drive a new car, you probably pay the most attention to the features they offer -- and not enough to the obvious things they lack.

To make up for that, Left Lane News has culled a list of some of the most glaring and obvious deficiencies of cars out on the road right now. They range from the annoying -- plastic hub caps on expensive vehicles -- to the significant -- rear disc brakes.

Here are our five favorites from the list in condensed form:

  • Chevrolet Traverse. The most expensive vehicle the site could find that's sold in the U.S. with plastic hubcaps. For $32,180 for the base Traverse LS all-wheel-drive, you might expect alloys. But not unless you fork over $3,000 more for a higher model.
  • Ford Focus. You get power windows in front at entry level. But in the back, you crank those windows.
  • General Motors full-size pickups. They still have old-fashioned drum brakes in the rear instead of four-wheel discs.
  • Honda Civic. No radio? Are you kidding us? The cheapy version also lacks air conditioning and power outside mirrors.
  • Porsche Panamera. Would it have been that hard to equip the plush Panamera with a rear windshield wiper for that broad window? Well, apparently it was. It needs it, but to get one will cost you $360.
