Zsa Zsa Gabor in 'critical condition'

Zsa Zsa Gabor, the Hungarian-born actress and Hollywood symbol of glamour, has been described as being in 'critical condition' after being rushed to hospital this morning.

The actress's long time publicist, John Blanchette, told the Mail Online that Gabor would be staying overnight in hospital after responding well to antibiotics.

'She's a fighter,' said Blanchette. 'She grabbed his [husband Prince Frederic von Anhalt] hand and squeezed it. So she doesn't want to go yet. She wants to stay.

The 94-year-old star was taken to hospital in Los Angeles after von Anhalt found her 'unconscious this morning and bleeding.'Gabor is currently undergoing treatment at UCLA Medical Center and her condition was earlier said to be 'very unstable.'However, Blanchette said doctors have now reattached Gabor's feeding tube after it came out.

Blood and other bodily fluids had been flowing out of the tube in the 94-year-old star's stomach.Blanchette said that von Anhalt will stay by the actress's side overnight tonight at the hospital.

She has previously suffered a stroke and fell in her home requiring hip replacement surgery. As they were: Zsa Zsa and ninth husband, Prince Frederick von Anhalt, pictured together in 1985, have been married for 25 yearsThe Hollywood legend had most of her right leg amputated because of gangrene and in March of this year she was admitted for high blood pressure following the death of her good friend Elizabeth Taylor.

But Gabor's publicist tells Mail Online in recent weeks her spirits had been lifted after she was visited by several celebrity friends.'Chubby Checker just visited her,' Blanchette revealed.Checker is an American singer-songwriter who shot to fame with his 1960 hit The Twist.Gabor's publicist said the singer met the actress '52 years ago' when she danced at one of his shows and they have stayed in touch.

She was also recently visited by Roseanne star John Goodman.The actor is currently appearing in the 1970s period drama Argo, which is being directed by Ben Affleck.

A few weeks ago, Affleck and company shot scenes in Gabor's Bel Air mansion, using it as a backdrop for a Hollywood estate.The actress's publicist said Goodman requested permission to meet with Gabor and told her he is a fan.
