Jacqueline Laurita has made it clear, via Twitter, that she’s done with Real Housewives of New Jersey and it seems that a manufactured scandal over fellow Housewife, Melissa Gerga’s past may be at the heart of Laurita’s decision that she is, “tired of the BS &shitty low life people. I didn’t know this was what I signed up 4. I have 2rise above&move on.”
She continued: “I can’t be part of the Charade anymore. It’s unsettling. It’s disturbing & against what I stand for. I’m a REAL housewife.”
Melissa Gorga’s reportedly manufactured encounter with her former boss at a strip club she apparently work at for a short time is nothing new for the Real Housewives franchise. The show has a reputation for setting it’s participants up to be embarrassed by their past.
The Huffington Post first reported the set up, and now it seems that the matter is complicated by the fact that Laurita believes that Melissa’s sister-in-law, Teresa Giudice, was behind the rumors that set producers on the trail of the strip club owner.
“Teresa told me that ‘rumor’ about Melissa when she first started the show,” Laurita Tweeted Saturday, according to CNN. “She wanted her out then. She knew. She plotted it. She played dumb on camera and even defended Melissa.”
Bravo, so far, has not commented on the story. Laurita did not participate in the finale show for the season, and appears to have no plans to return. Gorga, on the other hand, seems to be returning for season four. She wrote on her website:
“We are filming season 4 so there is not too much I can confirm, but there is one thing that I would like to clarify …the accusation that I was once a dancer at a strip club. This is 100% NOT TRUE. I did bartend fro a few weeks at a bikini bar while I was in college. My outfit was a tank top, shorts and sneakers. SORRY, no bubbies there.”
