SNSD Running Man

On September 19th, PD Cho Hyo Jin of SBS’s ‘Running Man‘ revealed that the members of SNSD recently filled in for actress Song Ji Hyo for the show’s recording.

He revealed, “YoonA, Jessica, Yuri, Seohyun, Taeyeon, and Hyeoyeon took part in September 19th’s recording. The male cast of ‘Running Man’ weren’t able to close their jaws when they saw the members step onto the set.”

The six girls paired up with the ‘Running Man’ crew to play an upgraded version of the paired race that was shown in a previous episode from July.

Cho PD continued, “The members were extremely active with the recording and did as much as they could for Song Ji Hyo, who’s currently hospitalized. We have to edit the footage to know, but we’re looking forward to some great scenes from them.”

i'm so excited omg. but ms. mong jihyo get better :( a little disappointed though i love all of snsd but this is missing some of their top group variety comedians. at least 2ny gets some private time ;]

OMG this is crazy!!!! Im sad Ji Hyo cannot be here but she has to rest so she can be fully charged and go back to being an ace the next episode.

I hope at least one of the girls bully some of the guy..Oh wait we have Jessica and prolly Taeyeon..lol I bet they will be playful and competitive esp. Hyo, Yoona, and Yuri who are athletic. I wish Tiffany was here since she's one of the best runners and athletes.

if they stick to the removing the players tag for the final mission, think it would be pretty hard to play honestly, namely cause of the risk factor and its guys/girls playing. Would be unfair to girls like Jessica or Seohyun who are delicate and unathletic.

We clearly dont want to see the girls gettin man handled, should be something easier like stick the tag on your enemy like as in episode 53.

Or considering that the participants are being paired off (YJS-Yoona, Gwang Soo-Yuri, and so on), they're eliminating each other as pairs, maybe with something like the bracelet method used in Episode 55.

So far, though, this episode looks more like a "race" episode (like the first Jeju and first Beijing episodes), though there could still be a Hide-and-Seek type game, especially if it's a two-parter.

I feel that the idea of "SNSD filling in for Ji Hyo" is just a little bit of embellishment and exaggeration for the headlines--not that there's anything wrong with that, but it seems to be giving people the wrong impression about SNSD's appearance and giving the antis some ammunition.

Given how schedules are typically worked out far in advance, the fact that this appearance seems to be in conjunction with SNSD's long-scheduled comeback, and the fact that Ji Hyo was hospitalized the morning of the taping and canceled at the last minute, I'm *positive* SNSD was going to appear as guests even if Ji Hyo were well and present. They're really guests, not substitutes. Ji Young in last week's episode was a more obvious substitute, though her appearance, too, was pre-planned since the crew knew in advance that Ji Hyo wouldn't make it because of her Gyebaek tapings.

If anything, what might have happened is that only five SNSD members were going to appear and Ji Hyo's absence resulted in a last-minute booking of a sixth member, which would have been easy enough to pull off if five were already booked and another member was available.

It's great to have SNSD as a guest while the real member, Song Ji Hyo get enough rest. Then reading all the comments,,,,,, some are very harsh to Jessica. Is the show only about running and just running that some says Jessica is not suitable for the show??????

Here's the thing, though--just because they don't perform well on the show game-wise doesn't mean that they don't succeed in terms of entertainment. Nichkhun was in the same episode and even though he participated in (and importantly, was given the chance to participate in, something that's not the case with Jessica) all the events, I just don't remember him *standing out* in the episode. The truth is, when someone mentions these episodes, most people would probably find Jessica's appearance more memorable and entertaining than Nichkhun's, in part *because* of how pathetically she performed.

Also, the show is very different now from what it was back when Jessica first appeared--the events aren't as physically grueling (at least not as often as they used to be), the taping no longer goes overnight, and the guests are better "taken care of" (i.e. given better opportunities to stand out).
