Kody Brown And Sister Wives Return

Kody Brown and the Sister Wives have returned to the TLC lineup , with the mid-season premiere on September 25, 2011. The polygamous family of one husband, four wives and 16 children continues to expand. Kody Brown's four wives are Meri, Janelle, Christine and Robyn.

During season one of Sister Wives, the series covered the courtship between Kody Brown and his fourth wife, Robyn. In a polygamous family, bringing in a new wife is a family affair, as the wives have to accept the new family member if the home is to be harmonious.

While first wife Meri, second wife Janelle and third wife Christine, endorsed Robyn as a new wife, there were natural feelings of jealousy because Kody was spending so much time courting Robyn. He had to travel all day to see her before they were married.

The first season ended with the wedding, which was not seen on TV. Kody Brown is only legally married to his first wife, Meri. The other wives are spiritual partners. After the wedding, Kody and Robyn went on a nine day honeymoon, while the rest of the family went camping.

Between seasons, the Browns moved from Utah to Las Vegas, Nevada, where they felt they might be more accepted. The family had been living their polygamous lifestyle quietly and secretly until they went on television and announced their family arrangement. The first part of the second season covered their adjustment to the new city.

As Sister Wives returns, the Brown family is adjusting to their new surroundings. Instead of one large house for the first three wives and a smaller house for Robyn, the wives are living in four separate houses. The kids are adjusting to their new school and looking for new friends in their new community.

One of the highlights of the first season was the birth of Christine's baby. After the birth, the family crowded into the delivery room, in joyous spirits. Now, there is a another baby on the way. In the mid-season premiere, Kody announced that Robyn was expecting a baby. The events leading up to the birth, including when they learn the sex of the baby, will be covered on the series.

The show is filmed in advance, so the announcement seen on the television series took place in the spring. The Browns made a public announcement about the pregnancy in April, 2011. The real life baby is due in October. When the birth will be televised is not known at this time.
