Sinead O’ Connor,Ranked as one of the most explosive pop star of the 90s

Many people would have been hard-pressed to put a name to the slightly overweight mumsy looking singer who took the stage at the Manchester International Festival Pavilion Theatre on Friday. It was Sinead O’ Connor, the bald Irish singer of Nothing Compares 2 You, her cover of the Prince song (1990).

But the moment she started singing, the same riveting voice was there. The singer debuted her new album, Home, at the festival. Going by audience reaction the singer has still not lost her touch, reports the Daily Mail.

Ranked as one of the most explosive pop star of the 90s, she achieved world-wide success with her albums, The Cobra and The Lion, I Do Not Want What I Haven’t Got and Theolgoy. The singer was always associated with a bald head or a cropped cut and even vowed that she would keep her head bald forever.

The singer has done a lot of guest appearances and collaborations with other artistes, including Peter Gabriels, Pink Floyd members, U2, The Edge, Terry Hall and Massive Attack.
