Oracle WebLogic Server 11g Release 1

Looking to transform its IT infrastructure, the University of Adelaide has deployed Oracle (News - Alert) SOA Suite 11g and Oracle WebLogic Server 11g.

Oracle WebLogic Server 11g Release 1 (10.3.5) updates the world's best application server for building and deploying enterprise Java EE applications with support for new features for lowering cost of operations, improving performance, and supporting the Oracle Applications portfolio.

To streamline access for tens of thousands of users to a range of disparate and heterogeneous systems, Oracle SOA Suite 11g and Oracle WebLogic Server 11g have provided a service orchestration layer for the university’s new student and staff portals that were deployed. Helping to present the information to users in a user-friendly format, the deployment has allowed the university to render legacy applications, the company stated.

“The Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g implementation at the University of Adelaide has delivered a strong and scalable technology platform for their student and staff portals, as well as a vast array of business processes that are critical to the university in achieving their core business, IT and financial goals," said Greg Taylor, vice president, Fusion Middleware, Oracle ANZ in a company press release.

To integrate the student portal with PeopleSoft Enterprise Campus Solutions and PeopleSoft Human Resources (deployed at the university over a decade ago), a CRM system, Blackboard (News - Alert) learning system and a Voyager library system, Oracle Service Bus 11g, part of Oracle SOA Suite 11g, has been used by the university. This makes it much easier for students to access the hundreds of applications they need, the company stated in a press release.

Recently, Post University selected Oracle CRM On Demand to transform outdated admissions, financial aid and student services processes to improve efficiency and the student experience. Founded in 1890 and located in Waterbury, Conn., Post University is a student-focused, career-driven university that offers a wide array of degree programs to its more than 5,000 on-campus and online students of all ages. Post University will begin implementing Oracle CRM On Demand to improve efficiency and customer service within its admissions department.
