The former boy bander tied the knot with Vanessa Minnillo in an intimate, top-secret tropical island ceremony, reps for the couple confirm.

The duo, who became engaged in November, flew 35 friends and family members to a secret location, where Lachey tells People.com the dress code was "island chic."

Minnillo donned a two-piece Monique Lhuillier ensemble that featured an embellished lace corset, paired with a signature hand tufted skirt made of silk faille. Her look was accessorized with a bow belt at her waist and chapel length tulle veil. Lachey wore a Dolce & Gabanna suit for the big day.

"Our wedding invitations were in the form of a plane ticket. We told them they were going away ... It was all very vague," he told the mag.

The blushing bride also added that getting married was just another "stepping stone" for the couple to do "what we ultimately want – and that's to start a family together."

Unlike his last marriage that many speculate ended thanks to the popular MTV reality show "Newlyweds," there won't be any cameras in this couple's first year of marriage.

"Just to clear the air on this, @VanessaMinnillo and I are doing a one time wedding special for TLC, NOT a reality series. Gonna be special!" he tweeted last month.

Jul 16, 2011While I wish this couple all the best in their future I have to wonder at the reasoning behind the "top secret" wedding. As far as I can see, they aren't A-listers and I suppose some cameras would have been lurking but I have my doubts that there would have been throngs of people hanging about to warrant even crowd control. I sure could be wrong and if I am, I apologize for my ignorance. On the other hand, no one wants anyone to interrupt their special day so maybe "top secret" is in order.
