Statesman Journal which is a Gannett company reported yesterday that a rare map whose symbol aims to show that the earth is square and Stationary was donated to library of Congress by a man from West Salem. This map main motto is to explain the human being that the world is flat. Donor name is Don Humuth, to him the map was given as gifted to him when he was studying in 8th standard by his Arithmetic teacher before 40 years. The map has been designed in Company era, gifted in Country era, Donated in IT ERA but currently we are living in IT era based on the globe as a village. This world is connected by internet now. But when the map was designed at a time when internet technology was not even established.

This rare map’s architect is Orlando Ferguson in 1893, his profession is being a religious zealot. When the donor decided to donate the map, he gave the information to geography and map division of the Library of Congress. Then the Library of congress appointed a technical information specialist to search its archives whose is numbered beyond 5 million geography materials.

This kind of map was found many in numbers during checking but it was found that many of them was not clear in structure and not even full, some of them were trimmed.
