JK Rowling has launched a new website, Pottermore.com

The author of the Harry Potter fantasy series has launched a new website, Pottermore.com. Clues to the existence of the new site were offered up on various Harry Potter fansites.

A Harry Potter fansite, the Leaky Cauldron, said it got a preview of the new site reporting that “it is one of the most amazing, engaging, and breathtaking additions to this fandom imaginable.”

No word on when the seemingly in-the-works site will launch or exactly what it will be about. Right now, it shows the name “Pottermore,” the words “coming soon…” and Rowling’s signature.

The site has surfaced shortly before the release of the final Harry Potter movie, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2,” which is due out on July 15.

Rowling wrapped up her Potter saga with the publication of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” in 2007, the seventh book in the series. Fans of the series would no doubt appreciate anything that adds to their appreciation of the books.
