The iPad 2 jailbreak from comex (JailbreakMe 3.0) has not been released today as rumored before, as comex has remained silent on Twitter for almost two days, thus not able to shed more details on yesterday's image leak....
It’s 6/17/11 and 6:17:11PM GMT is long gone. The bad news for all of those of you looking for an iPad 2 jailbreak solution is that that new tool, supposedly being worked on by comex has not been released today. JailbreakMe 3.0 is not yet available, although the JailbreakMe.com site still shows the same teaser image we’ve seen in the past few days.
Yesterday’s iPad 2 jailbreak story sparked some intense debate here at TFTS, but also on various other sites and forums. Some said that the image was fake while others decided to trust it and hope for the best. The general consensus though appeared to have been that the iPad 2 jailbreak is coming soon, even if it wasn’t going to be introduced today.
While the evidence suggests the image is fake, since the iPad 2 jailbreak tool has not been released today, we’re yet to be certain that the image doesn’t belong to comex. We reached comex on Twitter for further comment but he has not responded to our question. Nothing wrong with that since he receives a ton of messages from his over 100k followers. What’s strange is that he hasn’t tweeted anything today (or yesterday) considering that he’s using twitter on a regular basis.
His last message, which we featured in yesterday’s post too, basically said that the iPad 2 jailbreak is coming soon. Nothing after that. So why did he stop tweeting all of a sudden? Can it be plausible that he could have tweeted the image we showed you today and then removed it almost immediately? On the other hand, with so many Twitter followers, which is also something our readers pointed out, more people should have noticed the update in their Twitter feed even if it got deleted almost immediately. But what some people fail to realize is that when using Twitter one never knows that the image he just discovered will disappear in the following seconds or minutes, therefore not everyone is ready to take a screenshot or save it for later, just in case that tweet disappears. So, again, comex could have tweeted that image, and then he could have had to remove it as something clearly happened. But what about the folks out there that receive Twitter updates via SMS? They would have gotten the text even if the image would have been immediately deleted, wouldn’t they?
Still that doesn’t explain what made comex stop interacting with his followers on Twitter for almost two days. Is he any closer to revealing that illusory iPad 2 jailbreak tool? These are just some of the questions we’re still looking to answer for you guys, so stick around, either via Facebook, Twitter, or the feed!
And no, I did not post a picture with a specific release date. Rather, I got really distracted by this scroller business, sorry :p We’ll keep you updated on the iPad 2 jailbreak progress as we get more details about it.
