Apple will refresh the MacBook Air

A report suggests Apple will refresh the MacBook Air later this month. (Justin Sullivan - GETTY IMAGES) In the midst of reports that supplies of the MacBook Air are running out at retail locations across the country, Reuters reported Tuesday that Apple will begin selling a new model of the computer in late June, in line with previous rumors about a MacBook Air refresh.

Citing unnamed industry sources from a Taiwanese newspaper, the report said that the first shipment of the computers would have 380,000 units.

On Friday AppleInsider, which raised the possibility of a June release last Friday, reported that the new models would see a chip upgrade to the Sandy Bridge processor putting the graphics and main processor together, increasing speed.
