Sounds like you have hepatitis B surface antigen in your blood. Mostly that means you have the surface of the hepatitis B virus in your blood … and that usually means you have the rest of the virus there too.
Hepatitis B is a virus that can infect humans and predominantly affects our LIVER. This can cause many problems with the liver, predominantly the inability to detoxify drugs in our system, but it can cause pains in the abdomen (right upper quadrant) and it can cause people to turn yellow (jaundice) and it can cause a form of encephalopathy – “brain fever” where people can be confused and disoriented and eventually go into a coma or die.
In many cases the body fights back and is able to come to some sort of balance with the virus. People who manage this become “carriers” where the virus is in them, but it is not affecting them so badly.
There are treatments available for HBV but you will need to discuss this with your doctor. They tend to be mainly used for people who have bad acute hepatitis and are very sick from it.
anti- at the front means antibody against the antigen.eg,anti-HAV IgM means antibody against HAV antigens.but ur antigen for hepatitis B is present (HBsAg).
IN HEPATITIS THERE WILL BE INCREASE IN BILURUBIN AND BILIVERIDIN THESE ARE KNOWN AS BILE PIGMENTS……HEPATITIS ALSO KNOWN AS JAUNDICE.THIS AFFECTS THE liver THIS OF THREE TYPES…SYPTOMS WILL BE YELLOW COLORATION OF EYES,SKIN AND URINE WILL BE YELLOW IN COLOUR.ENLARGEMENT OF LIVER WILL ALSO BE THERE…….
HBsAg is reactive– Hepatitis B infection is present and has not resolved. Either the acute or chronic infection is there or the carrier state is there. Hepatitis B profile has to be done including Hepatitis BeAg and hepatitis B core antibody to see the state of infection.
