New signage at 232 Elizabeth Street announces the imminent arrival of Aesop, the cult-favorite skincare line from Australia. Back in March, we learned that the brand planned to open three New York stores this year, but this is the first we've seen of an actual address. It's a great location, as most locations in Nolita are: Elizabeth between Houston and Prince, around the corner from the incoming Gant and down the street from Unis.Spiritually, though, Aesop might have the most in common with across-the-street neighbor Steven Alan, which shares its quirky, slightly precious aesthetic. That this is no mere Sephora comes across loud and clear from the signs, one of which features a giant diagram of a human heart and a Buckminster Fuller quote about caterpillars. Need a job?
