Jackie Chan Died?No he Alive and Well

Twitter claimed a new death hoax victim when Hollywood actor Jackie Chan was reported to have died of a heart attack.

Word spread like wilfire on the social networking site and prompted an outpouring of grief from fans of the martial arts expert.

The bogus reports, quoted from a ‘source’ at a Los Angeles hospital, claimed Chan had suffered a heart attack triggered by the stress of a heavy workload.

They also said US President Barack Obama had offered his condolences and that MTV were planning a special tribute to him.

An ‘RIP Jackie Chan’ page trended as people left tens of thousands of messages of condolence for the 56-year-old Hong Kong born star.

However, Chan's agent steopped in to set the record straight and said he very much alive and promoting Kung Fu Panda 2, in which he reprises his role as Master Monkey.

A tweet from EyeofJackieChan read: "Jackie is alive and well. He did not suffer a heart attack and die as was reported on many social networking and online news reports."

His official Facebook page elaborated: "Jackie is alive and well and preparing for his next movie."

Chan joins celebrities such as Justin Bieber, Charlie Sheen, Kanye West and Jim Carrey, whose deaths have also been falsely propagated on Twitter.

He will appear in Hong Kong on April 1 as part of a benefit concert for the victims of the Japan tsunami, named ‘Love Without Borders 3/11 Candlelight Gala’. Source
