The Fate of 'All My Children' as soon by ABC

A daytime landscape without Erica Kane? Say it ain't so! A source close to 'All My Children' has confirmed to our friends at TV Squad that the series is in jeopardy.

ABC could make an announcement regarding the fate of 'All My Children' as soon as today or tomorrow. Despite it being a bigger brand, 'AMC's' sagging ratings has put the series on the chopping block.

If 'AMC' is canceled, ABC could move 'One Life to Live' to California. Deadline notes ABC may replace 'AMC' with a talk show, similar to what CBS did with 'As the World Turns.

In recent weeks 'AMC' has delivered record lows in Nielsen ratings. According to Deadline, the soap came in last in the key demographic of women 18–49. It was seen by 463,000 viewers in that demo, down 34 percent compared to last year. The series also came in last in total viewers, grabbing 2.32 million. 'One Life to Live' had 2.36 million during the week of March 7.

I have been watching AMC since 1971 and think that many loyal viewers would be devastated if they canceled this show! I think they need a better storyline. One of the big issues is that the storylines dragggggggggggggggg on and on for weeks. I have heard many of my friends and family tell me if they changed that, they would watch this show. I wish the writers could end the drama at the end of each week instead of every 6 months! It gets so boring to keep the story go on forever! End it and start anew and it will keep our interest!

Now you know how us people felt that were fans of As the World Turns. I really hope they dont take that off the air and put more bs talk shows on. I am soooooooooooo sick and tired of talk shows they have the same thing on over and over again. Enough already.

AMC's slow downfall started when they made Cameron Mathison (Ryan) the lead storyline getter on the show. He can't act and I never understood his appeal. I haven't watched since this happened.

I love him! He is one of the major reasons I watch! I love Greenlee too. Hate Kendall and loved they killed Zach off, hated their relationship. Kill Annie off and I would love the show more!

Sounds like it's time for some new writers. I've been watching since 1972. I'm loyal, always will be... through thick and thin. But get some original ideas, already!

Maybe the writing needs a boost. Their story lines go on and on and on, shorten up some of these overblown plots. This Zak/murder mystery and this idiot priest plot is so ridiculous, who cares anymore.

I agree. The story lines get boring & the whole kill off a character & then bring them back is old. I'm tired of the same old whiny storyline with Kendall for example. Hell, I don't even watch much anymore (any ABC soaps really) because of the boring, same old stuff. New writers might make a difference & listening to viewers' thoughts would be too.

I watched Soaps for years, back when. My life revolved around 'Another World'. Loved them then. Havent been that devoted to anything like that in years...

I watched today and have been watching since Tara and Phil. Since I was a kid. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! Do not cancel AMC. I love it and always have.

Please don't cancel the show. It's what I live for. My friends and I all watch it and it gives us so much to talk about. Please reconsider.

I have watched AMC since the early 70's when I was in high school. I have not watched for the past 3 months or so as the story lines are not good, and when they moved production, they lost many of the stars that I liked to watch. Get a clue, ABC, and either crank up the story lines or fold up your tent.
