Dionne Warwick is a legendary singer

Dionne Warwick has to be one of the biggest names in the new season of the Celebrity Apprentice which airs This Sunday night, March 6th at 9PM on NBC. Like all of the competitors on the show she will be playing for charity with all of her winnings going to The Hunger Project. At 70 years old she is the oldest competitor, but not by far, there are a few others that are in their 60’s in this year’s cast.

Dionne Warwick is a legendary singer who won got her first gold record in 1967 for the LP Here Where There Is Long. She has had many hit songs including two Number 1 singles, 1974’s “Then Came You” and 1985’s “That’s What Friends Are For.” She has had 8 other songs chart in the top 10 including the very well known “Walk On By.” She ranks number 2 on Billboard’s list of female vocalist with the most songs on the Billboard hot 100 chart during the rock era (1955-1999) with 56 total singles on the charts (Aretha Franklin is number 1 with 73). Warwick is a living legend and considered one of the greatest singers of all time. Her star power should help her out immensely in the Celebrity Apprentice competition, but I wonder if she will have the temperament to play the political games the Apprentice is known for..
