The Dark Knight RisesTrailer

The teaser trailer for Christopher Nolan's sequel to Batman movie The Dark Knight is unveiled marking one year to go.

The Dark Knight Rises will conclude filmmaker Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy.

The trailer reveals little about the film's plot line:

- Commissioner Gordon (Gary Oldman) says "the batman must come back" from his death bed

- In one scene Tom Hardy's chilling Bane confronts Batman

- Liam Neeson's Ra's al Ghul character is doing the voiceover. It's rumoured that his League of Shadows organisation will feature in the third film

- The Gotham City skyline is crumbling

The film stars Oscar-winner Christian Bale in the dual role of Bruce Wayne and Batman, as well as Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle, Marion Cotillard as Miranda Tate, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt as John Blake.

Michael Caine will return in the role of Alfred and Morgan Freeman reprises the role of Lucius Fox.

We are also told that the film was shot in three continents and include Pittsburgh, New York and Los Angeles, as well as sites in India, England and Scotland.

The Dark Knight Rises is out on 20 July 2012
