Miss Venezuela becomes Miss World 2011

Ivian Sarcos, a 21-year-old Venezuelan, was crowned Miss World 2011 in London on Sunday.

Miss Venezuela was crowned Sunday at the prestigious Miss World (not to be confused with Miss Universe), succeeding the American Alexandria Mills.

122 young women competed for the title. Sarcos was followed on the podium by Miss Puerto Rico and Miss Philippines.

Sarcos, who currently works for a broadcasting company, measures 1.79 m. With a degree in human resources, she now wants to devote her life to children.

One of 13 children, Sarcos said her proudest moment was “when I did my Communion.”

The organization of the contest this year was similar to that of Eurovision with a large table showing the scores each contestant had achieved.

The 2012 edition of Miss World will take place in China.
