As the festival of lights is around, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has asked people not to send him Diwali gifts and instead make donations to the his National Relief Fund, an official statement said on Thursday."He wishes to thank all those who have been sending him greetings and good wishes on the occasion of Diwali ," said a release issued by the PMO."The Prime Minister has appealed his well wishers to donate to the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund instead of sending gifts for him," the release added.
The country also wishes the Prime Minister Happy Diwali. It is unable to give the PM gifts as it only got brickbats in the form of high inflation, food insecurity, corruption scams, witch hunting and free one-liner sermons from the PM.
