Takeru Kobayashi could not compete because he was ineligible

We know that Joey Chestnut has the stomach for competition.

He shows that every year. Monday, he won his fifth consecutive Nathan's International Hot Dog Eating Contest at New York's Coney Island with a total of 62 hot dogs eaten.

Chestnut's record of 68 'dogs came in 2009. Takeru Kobayashi, the Arnold Palmer to to Chestnut's Jack Nicklaus, could not compete because he was ineligible. Kobayashi was arrested last year after he jumped on stage from the crowd after the competition was over.

Chestnut appears on ESPN every year and he is listed in the sports pages, but is he performing in a sport?
