Now free, Jaycee revels in the simplest of freedoms after spending 18 years being held captive by Phillip and Nancy Garrido.

“Now I can walk in the next room and see my mom,” Jaycee tells in an exclusive interview on ABC News. “Wow. I can decide to jump in the car and go to the beach with the girls. Wow, it’s unbelievable, truly.”

Jaycee was kidnapped in June of 1991 by the Garridos when she was 11 years old. Eighteen years later and after having given birth to two daughters fathered by Phillip, she was freed.

Diane stopped by The View on Wednesday to promote her interview with Jaycee and revealed how Jaycee, now 31, coped with having children with her captor at age 14.

“She is going to tell you what she sees [when she looks at her daughters]. And her mother to is going to tell you that they are fully themselves and their daughters,” Diane explained. “She loves them completely and she protects them and their privacy. And also they are teaching her about this new life and the future too.”
