Taste of Home Flag Day

Taste of Home American flag cake is made from a vanillla mix and decorated with buttery marsmallow creme frosting and fresh blueberries and strawberries embedded in flavored gelatin.

Independence Day is right around the corner, and Taste Of Home magazine is offering an American flag cake recipe that can help support U.S. troops and celebrate the holiday with an attractive and appropriately patriotic dessert.

For each unique view of its the American flag cake recipe at tasteofhome.com/uso, the magazine will donate 10 cents to the United Service Organization through July 4 for a maximum of $100,000.

Every dollar raised provides 20 minutes of telephone talk time for an overseas service member calling home. Just one recipe view makes a two-minute free phone call possible, according to the magazine.
