The Real Housewives of New Jersey:Teresa Giudice and Joe Gorga try to mend their relationship

Finally, after weeks of the silent treatment, The Real Housewives of New Jersey‘s Teresa Giudice and her brother, Joe Gorga, are going to talk things over and try to mend their relationship. But when their conversation doesn’t exactly end in a chorus of “Kumbaya,” Teresa reaches out to Joe’s wife, Melissa. A Giudice-Gorga showdown x2? Uh-oh, hold on to your tables!

This week on Bravo‘s Real Housewives of New Jersey, Caroline Manzo is branching out with “Caroline Rules.” When she sees how much work the radio station is expecting of her, she’s starting to get a little overwhelmed. But what better way to prepare than a trial run, working through Teresa Giudice’s issues?

At the Gorga home, Melissa Gorga is helping Joe pick out the perfect ensemble to meet with his sister. This would seem odd, except, when we see Teresa Giudice, she’s also preparing as though she’s meeting with royalty.

The brother and sister meet at a small restaurant with a table that is a bit too unstable for the occasion in our opinion. Immediately, Joe, who’s brought the letter Teresa wrote as back-up, starts in on what he feels she did to cause the rift in their relationship.

After his meeting with his sister, Joe Gorga and his wife & family have dinner at a friend’s house, along with Kathy Wakile and her husband, Richie. Melissa says that she’s happy to talk to Teresa and will gladly forget the past and move forward if Teresa admits her wrongs, but for some reason (like the fact that Teresa’s done that TWICE already) we’re not buyin’ it.

When their friends start talking about rumors of Teresa’s financial problems and how “rude” she is, Joe rushes to his sister’s defense, saying that it’s difficult to deal with being in the paper all the time while trying to get through such tough personal issues.

It’s the morning of Caroline’s first radio show and she is FULL of nerves. After a pep talk from her husband, her daughter, Lauren, picks her up to drive her to the station. Fingers crossed!

Meanwhile, Teresa stops by Jacqueline’s house to tell her all about her meeting with Joe. Teresa says that from the beginning, she suspected that Melissa was only after her brother’s money. Now, she ain’t sayin’ she’s a gold digga, but Melissa pretty much confirmed those suspicions when she allegedly told Teresa that she was smart for marrying Joe, unlike her sisters, who didn’t marry into wealth.

Despite their ups and (even more) downs, Teresa still wants the two to be able to put things behind them so she can have a relationship with her brother again.

During their conversation, Teresa gets a call from her husband. The news about the supposed auction of their possessions has spread and being broadcast on CNN. Teresa quickly brushes it off and tells Jacqueline that the rumors aren’t true, and that the auction has been cancelled, adding that there’s a lot going on that she can’t discuss because she’s been advised not to by her lawyers.

Jacqueline, however, is worried that Teresa’s going through so much and not acknowledging it all, but offers to help out by allowing her to meet with Melissa at her house to talk.

Caroline Manzo is LIVE on the radio for her first show and surprise, surprise — the topic is family feuds. After an awkward start, the calls start to roll in, and Caroline reminds everyone of why we love her so much.

It’s the day of the long-awaited meeting between Melissa and Teresa. We know this because she’s in her closet with her sisters and Kathy Wakile picking out the perfect outfit.

While they wait for Melissa, Teresa invites everyone to her house in the Catskills for a weekend getaway. After they agree to make the trip, Caroline gives Teresa some straight-talk, and reminds her that she has to “put her big girl panties on” and always strive to be the bigger person in the situation. Teresa says that she has been, and will continue to be, but it’s clear that she’s a little annoyed with Caroline’s advice.

When Melissa arrives, she and Teresa head to a different room and Teresa starts by telling her sister-in-law that she’s sorry for the way things have turned out. She says that more than anything else, she wants to mend things for the sake of the family, and her parents. Just as Melissa challenges Teresa’s claim that she’s all about family and we realize that this is like, the first time we’ve seen the two of them talk like this throughout the entire season, the episode ends. Darn you, Bravo!
