This year's Life is Good Festival has enlisted performers Ray LaMontagne, The Avett Brothers, Michael Franti and Spearhead and The Levon Helm Band to help raise money for kids facing life-threatening challenges.
The two-day fund-raising event -- set for Sept. 24-25 in Canton, MA -- also will feature Brandi Carlile, Martin Sexton, Robert Randolph & The Family Band, Raphael Saadiq, Ingrid Michaelson and The Hold Steady, according to a press release.
The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Maceo Parker and Tristan Prettyman are among the other acts schedule to appear at the annual event, to be held once again at the Prowse Farm in the Boston suburbs.
Popular children's performers are scheduled to appear on the "Good Kids" stage. Artists include Imagination Movers, The Laurie Berkner Band and Keller Williams.
The festival is hosted by the Boston-based Life is Good Company, which, according to a press release, and has generated more than $6.5 million for kids in need since 2003. In addition to typical revenue streams generated at benefit concerts, Life is Good ticket-buyers can raise additional money through a personal fundraising page that supports The Life is Good Playmakers, which is the action arm of The Life is Good Kids Foundation.
Fest-goers who participate in the additional fund-raising will be rewarded with a variety of prizes including exclusive backstage hospitality, preferred concert viewing and artist meet and greets.
