(Mesquite, NV) - Elvis tribute artists will do their best renditions of Elvis Presley’s famous tunes as they compete for the title of best Elvis and their share of $7,000 in prize money.
Ann Sunstrum, director of sales for CasaBlanca said, “It's really a lot of fun." During the four-day event, 25 Elvis tribute artists are expected to perform and mingle with fans during events such as the Shake, Rattle and Bowl tournament and evening of karaoke. The heart of the event is the competition for best Elvis tribute artist.
The artists will compete by era representing Elvis Presley from the ’50s, ’60s and ’70s. The top three from each era vying for the overall title. Sunstrum said the Elvis tribute artists are judged on their performance, looks and dance moves.
Not only will fans have the opportunity to hear the tribute artists sing and watch them perform, they can renew their wedding vows during a ceremony officiated by an Elvis impersonator who is also an ordained minister. The renewal ceremony will take place at 10:00AM Sunday. There is a $25 fee to participate; interested couples can register on-site Saturday and prior to the ceremony.
Sunstrum said, the resort is getting into the spirit of things with its bowling tournament Friday where fans can bowl with the tribute artists, Four Kings slot tournament Saturday and drink specials named after Elvis Presley songs and movies.
