Charlotte law firm Moore & Van Allen has hired a former Wachovia Corp. and U.S. Bancorp lobbyist as managing director of government affairs.
Walter Price will co-lead the practice with Moore & Van Allen partners Nancy Smith and John Saydlowski. Price most recently was at U.S. Bancorp, where he opened the Minneapolis-based bank's first Washington office. Before serving as director of government relations at Wachovia from 2002 to 2010, he worked at Bank of America Corp.
In an interview today, Price said he will help develop Moore Van Allen's presence in Washington, while also helping with state issues in Raleigh. While he brings expertise in financial services, he said he will work with clients in other sectors, including energy, manufacturing and healthcare.
