The rumored OJ Simpson murder confession to Oprah Winfrey is simply tabloid gossip and not true--yet. The former NFL great and Hollywood actor allegedly dished on killing Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman.Good headlines, but it just ain't so.
In what is being called "The Trial of the Century" (along with the Casey Anthony trial), a juicy, gossipy rumor is buzzing about that says "The Juice" collapsed under the hypnotic will of the "Queen of Talk" (even if her OWN brand is nose-diving).
O.J. Simpson 1990 · DN-ST-91-03444 cropThe so-called rumor came on the heels of Winfrey saying on a cable show that she hopes to one day get a startling murder confession from OJ Simpson about his role in the killing of his ex-wife and her alleged lover.
Some sites have it that he told Oprah Winfrey that he just "snapped" after learning Nicole Brown Simpson was having sex while the children were present at their home.
He also said that he grew tired of her taunting him, her out of control party lifestyle, and a severe drug and alcohol addiction.
Well, poor you Mr. Simpson; if true, those things are indeed bad things, according to our accepted social values of decency. But it does not give you a license to murder your wife and lover sir.
Even still, another gossip tabloid site, the National Enquirer ran a story about the OJ Simpson murder confession to Oprah Winfrey, saying he did it out of "self-defense."
He reportedly said when he confronted his ex-wife, she lunged at him with a knife, and before you know it, he was stabbing her. "I cut her over and over again until she was lifeless," claims the Enquirer.
But here is where the rubber meets the road, where fact is separated from folly--the OJ Simpson murder confession to Oprah Winfrey never happened! Case closed.
Winfrey's reps at her production company Harpo, said there is no such basis for the rumors, as they are "false."
Although Oprah did say to her television audience, "And I am going to make that happen people. I don't just want the interview. I want the interview on the condition that you are ready, Mr. Simpson." Again, no such confession occurred--yet.
It's just another day when a gossip rumor is defused!
