Minecraft Mobile at this year's E3 from Sony Ericsson

This invite that is going around seems to be hinting at an unveiling of Minecraft Mobile at this year's E3. The invite comes from Sony Ericsson with a photo of the Xperia Play on it and mentions some nice relaxing evening that will happen at E3. It also has Minecraft graphics all over it.

Not too long ago Mojang mentioned that they would be making a mobile version of Minecraft for both iOS and Android. It would be due out 'sometime later this year'. By the looks of the invite, that time may be much closer than expected. It makes sense though considering Minecraft will be officially out of beta this November for the PC as well so unveiling the mobile version, even if it is a beta, before then is highly possible.

We don't know for sure if that is what this is but considering how the invitation looks, it's a pretty safe bet. To top it all off, Notch (Minecraft creators alias) will also be attending E3 this year. Even better, we will be at E3 as well so if this goes down, you'll be sure to hear it here!

Update May 24th, 2011 1:57pm: It has been confirmed that Minecraft will be available on the Xperia Play first for a temporary amount of time exclusively. After that it will be made available on other phones as well. The Xperia Play version will take advantage of the custom controls.

Dumb. Hardly anyone has an Xperia Play. IIRC it's not even available in the US yet, It's not even a very powerful phone, last generation (yeah, 6 months ago... :p) hardware with a gamepad? No thanks.

How can an exclusive on Xperia Play really be worth while.. just release it universally all at once to avoid pissing the 95% or probably more android users that want it but didn't waste their time or money on a Xperia Play and got real useful android phones instead lol.

Probably not normally worth the exclusivity financially...but I suspect this is Sony paying for them to do so to help promote they're device. Similarly happens for consoles and even Tegra 2 devices.

I really, really hope I can play this on my Transformer using the retro Wii controller I've been playing N64oid with. I'm running a little experiment to see if I can fully replace my laptop with my Transformer and this would be a big step towards that, assuming I'm not stuck with on-screen controls.

RT @DroidGamers: UPDATE: Minecraft for #Android will be available on the Xperia Play first then other devices shortly after http://bit.

The time has come, dual-core beasts are slowly trickling in the market. Its just too confusing which on to choose. For an average user, finding the best of the best phones and tablets in the market is hard.

Lots of people want to play Tegra 2 games but don't currently have a Tegra 2 device. This leads to lots of sad faces but there is hope in the form of an app called Chainfire3D. So what is Chainfire3D?

If you haven't gotten enough of a fix for GTA-style games from Gameloft, then you will be pleased to know that they are releasing another one, called 9mm, soon onto compatible Android devices.
