Canon USA announced a new software called EasyConnect

LAKE SUCCESS, N.Y. — Canon U.S.A., a leader in digital imaging, today announced a new software solution from Nocson Collaborations Inc. called EasyConnect – a simple and effective capturing application specifically designed to integrate with Canon’s imageFORMULA DR-Series document scanner line. Available for download from the Nocson website, the coupled technologies will give users the ability to capture and release images with indexing information directly to a Microsoft SharePoint Server, a cloud computing solution.

When paired with Canon’s imageFORMULA DR-Series scanners, EasyConnect software allows users to take advantage of the powerful collaborative features on Microsoft SharePoint, such as easily moving or scanning images, files, PDF’s and saved webpages into Microsoft SharePoint to distribute information quickly and securely. End-users will experience clear and intuitive document thumbnails, allowing for quick browsing, organizing and use of all files without having to individually open each document.

“The combination of Canon’s imageFORMULA DR-Series scanners and Nocson’s EasyConnect software allows businesses to take workplace efficiency to new levels,” said Jim Rosetta, vice president and general manager, Imaging Systems Group, Canon U.S.A. “We are confident that the solution will further distinguish Canon as a provider of choice for businesses seeking secure and easy-to-use document capturing software.”

Nocson’s EasyConnect software provides options to choose various batch scanning modes including Single Page, Multi Pages (All Pages) and Multi Pages (Specified Pages). It can also send scanned documents in a single click, directly to Microsoft SharePoint; send e-mail via Outlook; or save in local drive or print. Users can choose from two releasing options including an On Demand Release option, and a Profile release option, providing effective ways to communicate with Microsoft SharePoint Server.

"With EasyConnect, Canon offers a complete capturing solution for Microsoft SharePoint users,” said Bob Stankard, president of Nocson Collaborations, Inc. “This will now give Canon resellers a great opportunity to penetrate this increasingly important market. Presently, the sharepoint-user market is estimated at 130 million licensees worldwide with additional growth expected in the future."

EasyConnect will be compatible with the following Canon imageFORMULA DR-Series scanner models:

• DR-2020U
