Rush Limbaugh does not believe the Obama administration’s

Rush Limbaugh does not believe the Obama administration’s rationale for American intervention in Libya. Rush declares, “this is no more a humanitarian mission than it is a mission to save the animals and the pets of Libya. This is about European energy, pure and simple.”

Given that Defense Secretary Gates revealed Libya is not a “vital national interest,” Rush believes this all “adds up to oil.” Yet not America’s need for oil, which wouldn’t be objectionable to Rush. However, this is all to protect Europe’s need for oil. Using a map from Stratfor to support his thesis, Rush establishes this to be the reason why the Europeans didn’t wait for us: they couldn’t afford to risk their oil.

Later, Rush commented on the appearance by Gates and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on the Sunday morning shows, as they attempted to rationalize American involvement. When Clinton answered a question posed to Gates, Rush said “lead ‘Hawk Hen’ number one Mrs. Clinton moves in there, co-opts the question, gives the answer.” Instead of Clinton’s strong defense of the Libya strategy, Rush reminds his listeners that Libya did not attack anybody, and concludes, “humanitarian? That’s just what the left says. So we have joined a war for Europe’s oil.”
