No Widely Recognized Treatment Has Been Discovered For Turrets Syndrome.

Turrets syndrome is a situation in which unwanted movements and noises are variable. It is a nervous system disorder, which is inherited in patients. But the gene, which causes the disorder, is still to be discovered. Studies tell that either of neurotransmitters, serotonin or dopamine causes tics in Turrets syndrome but largely its causes are unknown. Some studies suggest that the lack of chemicals what are essential for brain to function normally cause Turrets syndrome.

Evidences tell that males have 99 percent chances of having symptoms that inherit Turrets syndrome. In females exhibition chances of symptoms are 70 percent. It is expected that environmental and genetic factors play their role in development of symptoms in Turrets syndrome. Some researchers believe that Turrets syndrome has different causes in different people. But such theories are less proven. Deep research is needed for reaching the true causes of Turrets syndrome.

Blood test cannot diagnose Turrets syndrome. Its diagnose is possible only through observation of patient’s behaviour. The interviews of his family member can increase the correctness probability of observations related to patient’s behaviour. However, the wide range of behavioural disorders in Turrets syndrome makes it difficult to differentiate its patient from other patients of similar symptoms.

People with turrets syndrome pass socially unacceptable comments. Their behaviour is socially unacceptable. Self-injurious behaviour is frequent in these people. Anxiety and depression is also common in them. Mostly they have personality disorders and learning disabilities.

Treatment of turrets syndrome varies from patient to patient. But no widely recognized treatment has been discovered for Turrets syndrome.
